Professional Practice Issues in Health Care - Ethics Introduction Medical ethics play a huge role in the health care industry. A crucial part of a health care professional s role is to apply appropriate ethical guidelines into clinical settings. Due to its importance there is unlimited amount of references available in different forms regarding to this specific topic, however, the quality, reliability and relevance of each reference can remain questioned and requires further consideration. In this study three different types of references were looked at, namely textbooks, journal articles and the internet, and a total of six references were selected and ranked depending on their quality, relevance and reliability. Type of Reference: Textbooks Upon typing health care ethics to the Monash Library search engine, 80,548 results appeared with various relevance to the keywords entered. By limiting the results for only textbooks which simply requires selecting books in the refine results tab, this narrowed the results to 1,019. The two books that are at the top of the list were selected in this study, as the search results were sorted in the order of relevance. 1. Baillie, H.W. (2013) Health Care Ethics 2.
